The Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2011 began yesterday. It will continue 4 days. Most interesting during the first day was the Christian Dior fashion show. This time when creating his collection for Dior, John Galliano was inspired by the work of Rene Gruau - a famous artist-illustrator.
Tight jackets, magnificent shoulders, deep necklines and tailored skirts to the knee were the center of the collection with 1950s flavor. Galliano went all-out for volume, enveloping his models in layers of tulle as they flowed down the runway.
On Monday their Spring/Summer 2011 Haute Couture collections also presented Zuhair Murad, Georges Hobeika, Francois Eymeric, Alexis Mabille, Armani Prive, Bouchra Jarrar, Christophe Josse and Alexandre Vauthier.
