Gucci and Vanity Fair partner for Cannes dinner and party in honor of Martin Scorsese

Gucci announced that Creative Director Frida Giannini and Vanity Fair Editor Graydon Carter co-hosted the Vanity Fair/Gucci party on May 15 in Cannes. An intimate dinner at the Hotel du Cap was followed by a party to celebrate Martin Scorsese and the 20 year anniversary of The Film Foundation.

The following guests wore Gucci:

Marc Anthony wore a Gucci navy notch lapel tuxedo with black satin trim, white dress shirt, black satin tie and black lace up loafers.

Jennifer Lopez wore a Gucci one of a kindpale grey moraccain silk one shoulder cocktail dress with pleated organza and georgette ruffle detail on the shoulder and a grey satin clutch with jewel detail.

Luca Argentero wore a Gucci navy Signoria peak lapel two button suit with black dress shirt, black silk tie and black leather horsebit loafers.

Lady Gaga becomes hat designer

Apparently the hats Lady Gaga has been wearing lately haven’t been strange enough for her, so she’s decided she wants to start designing her own hats. How to start doing that? By learning to create her headwear under milliner Philip Treacy.

The singer has applied for an internship with Treacy after the two worked together on several headpieces. He designed Lady Gaga’s lobster hat, as well as her famous telephone-shaped hat.

Marko Mitanovski is a Fashion Designer and Graduate of the "College of Design", Belgrade, Serbia. His collection Spring - Summer 2010 is unique and provocative and attracted the attention of people and media at London Fashion Week, where it was presented as part of Vauxhall Fashion Scout's "One to Watch" show.

His designs have also been showcased at ceremonies including the "Nokia L’Amour Award", in which he was awarded "Best Young Designer" and at Belgrade Fashion Week in October ’08.

Giles Deacon is the new Ungaro creative director

Fashion house Ungaro hired new creative director. The post took designer Giles Deacon, which was no surprise after weeks of rumors about his appointment.

With the appointment, Giles Deacon becomes the latest of designers to attempt to right Ungaro, which has been bleeding money since the 2004 retirement of its founder and namesake.

Decaon will be showing his first collection for the house at a presentation during Paris Fashion Week in October.
